Good reference for those interested in upgrading to OSX 10.10 Yosemite

Brown University’s IT Knowledgebase has put out a compatibility table listing applications that they have tested for compatibility with OSX 10.10 Yosemite. I found this because because I need to know if I can upgrade to Yosemite while retaining the operation of Word 2011 and Endnote X7. Their table says that both work “as is” but considering I’m in the proposal phase of my dissertation work, I can’t risk the upgrade just yet. I have to be sure that both work before I will even entertain upgrading – I can’t have glitches.

They also state, “As of 10/21/14, we recommend that you do NOT yet upgrade to Yosemite (Mac OS X 10.10) until Apple releases their first patch to the operating system.”

I’m holding off for the first point release based on advice for those in the tech/nerd community that I trust, but I’m really holding off until I can be sure that my doctoral work isn’t interrupted.
